Wendell’s Books and Magazines

Proudly Featuring Kentucky Authors and Artisans

Falls City Market’s bookstore is proudly named for the renowned poet, novelist, essayist, and environmentalist Wendell Berry, who has lived, worked, and written on his family farm in Henry County, Kentucky, since 1965.

“We have the world to live in on the condition that we will take good care of it. And to take good care of it, we have to know it. And to know it and to be willing to take care of it, we have to love it.”

Berry’s words ring truer than ever, inspiring our dedication to fostering the spread of knowledge and caring in the world.

You’re welcome to lose yourself for a little while, finding peace and inspiration at Wendell’s. Explore a wide selection of books, magazines, cards, and crafts, many written and designed by local Kentucky authors and artisans – the perfect Louisville gifts. Take your time and leisurely browse unique Louisville gifts. Then, relax with a mug of coffee while reading in a quiet corner, before taking something home to add to your collection.
